
Community Connection Grants For Disabled
This Grant will offer the participant an opportunity for community connection, enjoyment and socialization. Participants will experience entertainment through social, recreational or cultural events, and will include, plays, music concerts, Scrappers games, YSU or Browns games, Covelli Center events, wrestling matches, community festivals, etc.
Instructional Grants For Disabled
This Grant will enhance the opportunity to take lessons in art, cooking, horseback riding, yoga, roller skating or dance lessons. This offers to the participant the personal satisfaction of obtaining a skill that will enhance their level of accomplishments, self worth and contribute to independence and growth.
Organization Grants For Disabled
This Grant will offer the participant to obtain membership in community social activities and gyms such as area physical fitness centers, YMCA and YWCA, Kiwanis clubs, Boys and Girls clubs, etc. This includes opportunities for recreational and socialization enrichment, exercise to maintain motor skills and promotes good health habits.
Sports Grants For Disabled
This Grant will offer the participant to join and engage in playing sports and community activities. This includes joining a bowling league, softball or soccer team, baseball or basketball sport teams. It will also cover uniforms and required equipment material costs. The purpose of this Grant is to encourage the participant to learn team work and follow rules that promote social, emotional, physical and cognitive developmental. Grant could include transportation cost.
Hobby Grants For Disabled
This Grant will offer participant socialization through hobbies. Materials will include supplies for artwork, scrapbooking, jewelry making, beading, crocheting, knitting, wood carving and gardening. It will help participants to explore their talents, promote self-confidence and self-worth and to learn new hobbies etc.
Music Grants For Disabled
This Grant will give the participant an opportunity to enjoy music in a variety of ways. Providing necessary equipment for CD’s, CD players, radio, sensory oriented/relaxation tapes, DVD players with DVD’S, key board and instrumental equipment. It is perfect for strengthening the auditory stimulation and explore sounds, improve relaxation and encourage stress release plus using cognitive skills in keyboard and instrumental playing.
Apparel Grants For Disabled
This Grant will assist the participant to make appropriate choices in buying clothing items, how to wisely spend money and to purchase items that fit properly. Also teaching the value of clothes coordination and clothes up-keep.

Home Maintenance Grants For Disabled
This Grant offers the participant the funds for local moving expense, emergency utilities and rental fee. This is for those participants who have become independent and moving forward to experience living alone. Included will be furniture items, groceries or special food items.
Personal Hygiene Grants For Disabled
This Grant will offer the participants an experience in personal grooming including: manicures, pedicures, ladies and men hair cuts, hair wash and styles, back massages and personal products to maintain their grooming, plus supplies. This will enhance self worth and the overall attitude of feeling special.
Parent Respite Grants For Disabled
This Grant will provide a weekend of Rest and Relaxation for the parent(s) or caregiver. The funds will also include pay for caregiver services and the luxuries of Holiday Inn Suites or a Bed and Breakfast weekend, movie and dinner, Covelli Center, special community events and activities to give the parent the opportunity to experience a time of R & R.
Technology Grants For Disabled
This Grant will assist in daily lives that Medicaid or CMH will not pay for. This includes equipment such as Braille related materials, memory boards, computer and assessment software. The participant will experience the ability to strengthen their cognitive, social and communication skills as they use the resources that meet their individual needs, learning styles and interests.
